– choreographed and directed by Naina Dewan
Exit—the act of leaving—is often thought of as purely instinctual, a part of the human “fight or flight” response, or motivated by a self-centered impulse. In an evening of evocative contemporary dance, Dance Converse explores the concept of exit with closer scrutiny. When is the decision to leave a political act, an escape from enslavement, a fight for survival, an existential flight to freedom, a necessary migration, or the walk of exile? EXIT weaves together diverse narratives of moving bodies as evidence of the gap of disquiet between departure and arrival.
Performances November 16, 17 at 7:30 pm, and November 18 at 2:30 pm.
