Reconstructed Images and Nature Morte will be on view in The Milliken Art Gallery beginning February 8, 2018. In this solo exhibition, Andrew Leventis’s oil paintings, which reference imagery from film and television, will be on display through February 28. He acknowledges, “My painting traces the history of humans exhibiting possession and ownership of one another through things-necklaces, photos, souvenirs, and other such still-life memorabilia.” Leventis has taught Graduate Painting at the University of South Dakota, been a guest lecturer at Savannah College of Art and Design, and is currently an Assistant Professor of Painting at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
The exhibition will run from February 8-28, 2018. Leventis will present a Gallery Talk on February 8th at 6:00pm in the gallery followed by a reception from 6:30-8:00pm.
The exhibition is located in the Milliken Art Gallery and is free of charge. Gallery hours are Sunday – Thursday 2:00-5:00pm. The Gallery is closed during school holidays.
