Find out more »Since its first performance at the 1969 inauguration of Alice Tully Hall, CMS has firmly established itself as our nation’s most important mixed chamber music group. CMS has commissioned over 160 works from an impressive array of composers including George Crumb, Leonard Bernstein, William Bolcom, Darius Milhaud, and many more. The group offers an extraordinary number of opportunities in educational outreach annually, and its frequent appearances on PBS’ “Live from Lincoln Center” and NPR’s “Performance Today” have been experienced by millions of Americans. In February, we’ll welcome pianist Michael Brown as he joins the CMS wind players in performances of beloved works by Mozart and Samuel Barber.
