In the lead-up to the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth, on December 17, 2020, The Spartanburg Festival Chorus and Converse Chorale will combine to celebrate the composer’s musical legacy and shine a light on the works which have made him one of history’s most enduring figures. The concert will feature Beethoven’s Mass in C major and Fantasia in C minor. Soloists to include Douglas Weeks, piano, Anne Denbow, soprano, Susan Lyle, mezzo-soprano, Grant Knox, tenor, and Phillip Haynie, baritone. This concert will be dedicated Converse College’s Babcock Professor of Piano, Dr. Douglas Weeks, who will retire at the end of the 2019-2020 academic year after 38 years of service to the college.
