Politics Grad Accepts Position with American Near East Refugee Aid

Politics and Religion grad Holly Jordan ’06 (Nisbet Honors) accepted a position at American Near East Refugee Aid (ANERA, a non-profit celebrating 50 years of providing aid to Palestinians in Palestine, Lebanon, and Jordan. At ANERA, she serves as the new business development manager and leads research efforts to identify potential funds and grant opportunities to support ANERA’s mission of sponsoring and supporting schools, hospitals, and infrastructure within Palestinian communities.
While a student at Converse, Holly was a member of Model Programs for three years, serving as National Chief Justice of the Arab Court of Justice in her last year. Her relationship with the National Council on US-Arab Relations led to study-travel visits to Jordan in 2004 and Lebanon in 2012.
Holly co-authored The Model Arab League Manual: A Guide to Preparation and Performance for the international Model Arab League program. She was the Secretary-General of International Model NATO and Converse’s first graduate to hold that position. Holly held a three-year, non-tenured appointment in the Political Science Department at Roanoke College, where she established a Model Arab League delegation which still participates in the Southeast Model Arab League conference held at Converse.
