SUMMARY:Carlos Moseley Series: REBEL
DESCRIPTION:Hailed by the New York Times as “Sophisticated and Beguiling” and praised by the Los Angeles Times for their “astonishingly vital music-making\,” the award-winning\, New York-based ensemble\, REBEL (pronounced “Re-BEL”) is one of North America’s top-tier ensembles specializing in 17th- & 18th-century repertoire performed on period instruments. Named after the innovative French Baroque composer Jean-Féry Rebel (1666-1747)\, REBEL was formed in The Netherlands in 1991; that same year the ensemble took first prize in the Van Wassenaer International Competition in Utrecht and gave their critically-acclaimed American début in New York City in 1992. \nArguably the most aired American baroque ensemble in the U.S. today\, REBEL is regularly featured on the nationally syndicated shows Performance Today and Sunday Baroque\, and has appeared several times on MPR’s St. Paul Sunday. DESCRIPTION:In conjunction with Spartanburg’s Spring Fling\, The Crit is a closed-circuit\, multi-lap cycling race known for its open-air plaza center\, dangerously sharp left turns and unique atmosphere! \nThis bike race puts a sweet southern SPIN on the traditional tailgate and turns the heart of the city into a one of a kind block party. Bring your friends\, and tailgate with your Converse friends. Guests can wander the streets and drop in tent to tent around the course. For a list of the events visit the Criterium website. \nAdditional Details\n \n\nApril 28\, 2023 – Converse Tent opens at 5 pm.\nLocated on the Library Side of Broad Street at the Corner of Church and Broad.\nLawn is located behind the tent\, so bring a chair.\nEnjoy snacks and beverages while they last – adult beverages for those over 21 (with an ID).\nWe had several hundred in attendance last year – would love to have even more.\nCome drop in and see us or make the Converse tent your home base.\nThis is a Do Not Miss event!
