SUMMARY:2021 'Girls Who Code' Club Weekly Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Calling all Middle and High School Students! Converse’s Math and Computer Science Department is excited to announce their participation in hosting a Girls Who Code Club. \nThis Club is designed to promote coding skills in girls in grades 6-12 and is FREE to all participants. No coding experience is required! Participants will work together to design a project using the skills they learn through each Girls Who Code session. \nOur club will be held online for the foreseeable future due to physical distancing practices. We will meet virtually to complete the same activities. Our meetings will be held weekly on Monday evening from 4:30 pm- 5:30 pm starting October 4\, 2021. \nWhat to Expect: \nStudents will get to know one another\, learn about women who have influenced the world of technology\, learn about coding\, build a team project throughout the club\, and encourage one another. Once a student is registered for our club through Girls Who Code HQ\, they will have access to the free curriculum. SUMMARY:EXHIBITION: 2021 Art & Design Faculty Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:The 43rd presentation of this exhibition showcases the talents of the Converse University Art and Design faculty. Previous exhibitions included such diverse media as printmaking\, photography\, sculpture\, painting\, drawing and ceramics. The art faculty comprises of individuals with backgrounds in studio art\, interior design\, art education and art therapy producing an exhibition that reflects a broad range of creative expression. \nThe exhibition will run from November 4-23\, 2021. A reception will be held on Thursday\, November 11 from 6:30-8:00pm in the gallery. \nThe exhibition is located in the Milliken Art Gallery and is free of charge. Gallery hours are 9:00 am–5:00 pm\, Monday-Friday and 2:00-5:00pm\, Sunday. The Gallery is closed during school holidays.
