Distinguished Writer to Read at Converse
On Tuesday, January 15, Peter Meinke, the 2002 Sara Lura Mathews Self Distinguished Writer in Residence will give a reading in Cleveland Hall Alumnae House at 7:30. Admission is free, and a book signing will follow the reading.
Meinke is the author of 13 books, including Zinc Fingers (2000), which received the SEBA Award for the “best poetry book of the year.” His short story collection, The Piano Tuner, won the 1986 Flannery O’Connor Award. His work has appeared in such magazines as The New Yorker, The New Republic, The Atlantic Monthly, and The Nation.
Meinke is on campus during Winter Term teaching the Advanced Tutorial in creative writing.
