Masters of Education

The Master of Education at Converse is a program where experienced teachers combine work in their academic specialty with advanced courses in professional education. In some cases, teachers (with the guidance of an academic adviser) design their course of study in order to add an area of certification to their existing credentials. While each M.Ed. program area has specified core requirements, there is considerable flexibility in this degree so that teachers may pursue special areas of interest.

The on-campus M.Ed. program is a 36 semester hour program of graduate study in appropriate professional and academic areas for teachers who are already certified. Courses are taught in the evenings and include tracks in:

We also offer online MEd programs in:

Programs are approved by the South Carolina State Department of Education and enjoy certification reciprocity with many other states. Learn more and review the academic requirements for each of the different programs:

“I developed close relationships with my instructors at Converse. They struck me as brilliant, passionate teachers who cared about me not only as a student but as a person. I wanted to emulate them. They stoked my intellectual curiosity and honed my desire to be a life-long learner. Today, years later, I remain close with several of those professors, and their influence touches every story I write.”
