Bella Martin ’26 Named 2026 Conference Carolinas Track & Field Scholar Athlete
All-Region honoree and 2026 Conference Carolinas hammer throw runner-up Bella Martin ’26 was recognized as the conference’s 2026 Outdoor Track & Field Scholar Athlete of the Year. This is awarded annually to one individual in each Conference Carolinas sponsored sport. The Scholar-Athlete of the Year winners are chosen by the Conference Carolinas Student-Athlete Affairs and Awards Committee. To be considered, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 or higher. In addition, the nominees for the award must have been named all-conference in their sport and also chosen academic all-conference. Winners are chosen by the Conference Carolinas Student-Athlete Affairs and Awards Committee.
Martin, a double major, graduated summa cum laude from Converse in May with a BA in Health and Wellness Studies and a BA in Child and Family Studies
She also earned the 2026 Conference Carolinas Elite 26 Award for Indoor Track & Field, an award given to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average at their respective championship site. Martin is also a two-time honoree of both CSC Academic All-District honors and Conference Carolinas Academic All-Conference honors. She finished the season as the Southeast Region’s second-ranked athlete in the hammer throw, finishing ahead of every athlete from both the South Atlantic Conference and the Peach Belt Conference. She brought home silver in the event at this year’s outdoor conference championship.
