The Victorians Institute is an organization of scholars and students interested in British literature, culture, and history during the reign of Queen Victoria (1837 - 1901). The Institute sponsors the award winning Victorians Institute Journal (VIJ), as well as an annual meeting that gathers together scholars and students from the U. S. and abroad to focus on a specific theme of interest and importance to Victorian studies.
This year’s meeting will be held at Converse College, Oct. 16 and 17, 2009, and the conference theme is "Creativity and the Arts in Victorian Culture."
The keynote speaker will be Prof. Linda Peterson, Niel Gray, Jr., Professor of English at Yale University.
