The Student Life staff invites you to make a splash at our pre-orientation advising program for the Class of 2014. Then, head out on one of three excursions designed to introduce you to your classmates, build community and develop your leadership skills.

 

We look forward to getting to know you over the next four years and to providing opportunities that help you grow in mind, body and spirit. Join us for SOAP. It's good, clean fun!

 

 

Summer Visit & Advising

Sunday, June 27 – Monday, June 28


This overnight program includes pre-registration activities that introduce you to academic course offerings and to some of our freshmen academic advisors. In addition, you'll get to know your classmates and begin to form friendships that will last a lifetime.

 

Cost: $50

 

Participants in Summer Visit & Advising are encouraged but not required to participate in one of the three SOAP excursions. The all-inclusive cost for SOAP excursions includes the Summer Visit & Advising Program.

 

 

Summer Serve

Make a Difference

Sunday, June 27 – Wednesday, June 30


Serving others cleanses the soul! Join fellow first-year students for a building project with Habitat for Humanity. This SOAP excursion helps participants develop through teambuilding and service reflection activities. Your group will spend the night on campus.

Summer Adventure

Be Bold - Design a Journey with Purpose

Sunday, June 27 – Thursday, July 1


Churn up the fun with an adventure at Nantahala Outdoor Center. Build confidence, interpersonal skills and friendships while participating in outdoor activities including a ropes course, white water rafting and hiking. Your group will spend the night in cabins at the center.

Summer Scene

Sunday, June 27 – Wednesday, June 30


See what bubbles up when you explore your creative side. Get hands-on at Converse with art and music. Then, take to the road to experience the eclectic culture of art in the region and ride the Purple Bus in Asheville. Your group will spend the night on campus.


Cost: $200
