About Healthcare Administration
There’s never been a better time to join the healthcare industry. More than half of the 20 fastest growing occupations in the U.S. are in health services fields. But healthcare is more than just medical treatment by doctors or nurses. In 2014, the U.S. spent roughly $218 billion on hospital administration costs. Doctors and nurses need healthcare administrators in a variety of roles to ensure they maintain a smoothly running business. From tracking trends in a rapidly-changing industry to supervising the delivery of services by doctors, nurses and technicians, healthcare administrators play a key role in making our communities healthy.
With a high concentration of exceptional medical facilities right in our backyard, Spartanburg is an ideal place to study Healthcare Administration. We are home to the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System, the Mary Black Health Care System, nonprofits like ReGenesis Healthcare and AccessHealth, which work towards treating the uninsured, and numerous physician and physical therapy practices. You will find opportunities to intern, experience hands-on learning, and network with local and regional professionals.
