Professor Hughes retired in Summer 2017.

Jane Hughes, a NCIDQ certified interior designer, joined the Department of Art and Design in 2011. She holds a Master of Arts in Interior Design from the University of Kentucky, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Miami University, Ohio.

With an accumulated 26 years of design experience, along with the ownership of her own design firm, Jane decided to give back to the design community by entering the academic world. She continues to practice commercial, multifamily, and design for the elderly.  As a member of American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and the Interior Design Educators Council, Jane maintains a current position in the design community, as well as the design education community.

Jane’s teaching experience includes courses for business practices, sophomore, junior, and senior level interior design studios, construction documentation, presentation skills and 2-D design.
