Housing and Meals

Housing will be offered in newly renovated Belk Hall, an air-conditioned suite-style dormitory a short walk from both the dining hall and the classroom building that will serve as workshop headquarters. Double rooms will be available for $35 per night and single rooms for $42 per night. You should plan to bring twin-size bed linens, pillows, towels, washcloths, and soap.

You may elect to stay off-campus at one of the local hotels or bed and breakfasts. Please contact our office for details on those facilities: melissa.walker@converse.edu

The daily meal plan will cost $150 for the week and includes breakfast and dinner in the cafeteria, box lunches during our field trips, and the dessert reception on Sunday evening. Meals begin with Sunday dinner and end with Friday lunch.

Participants will have access to email and computer equipment in our state-of-art campus computer labs. Participants will also have full use of Mickel Library with its strong collection of works on American history and resources for teachers.
