Life in New York City for Miss Harriet Quimby

Harriet's New York City society picture

Harriet as a writer for Leslie Weekly

Harriet poses for pictures in New York City.  At this time Harriet was a very successful writer for Leslie Weekly magazine.  Furthermore, she was slowly gaining national recognition as being the first licensed woman pilot in America and the first woman to fly solo across the English Channel.

Harriet's cigarette caseMany women in Harriet's society circle carried cigarette cases during the early 1920's as a fashionable accessory.  This is a photo of Harriet's silver cigarette case.
