The Harlaxton International Chamber Music Festival is a three-week program that celebrates the collaborative aspect of music. A faculty of distinguished artists/teachers and selected international guest artists will provide daily coaching for young-artist chamber groups that will perform in a variety of venues ranging from stately homes to Lincoln Cathedral, from St. Martin in the Fields (London) to Belvoir Castle (Lincolnshire). Harlaxton Manor, a historic 19th-century estate, serves as the residence and primary performance venue for highly talented instrumentalists and singers who desire an intensive chamber muHarlaxtonsic experience.

LOCATION:
The Harlaxton International Chamber Music Festival takes place in the beautiful Elizabethanstyle manor house built for Gregory Gregory in the 1830s. It is considered the masterpiece of architects Anthony Salvin and William Burn. The towering façade, rolling acres, ponds and gardens make Harlaxton one of the most splendid houses in England. The manor has been featured in a number of movies and documentaries, including Steven Spielberg’s The Haunting.

Harlaxton Manor is situated three miles from Grantham, England, and 110 miles North of London. Grantham, home of Sir Isaac Newton and former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, is near Nottingham and Lincoln.

The majestic Great Hall and the elegant Long Gallery serve as the principal performance venues for the estate. Additional rehearsal and performance spaces include the State Dining Room, Gold Room, Drawing Room, Morning Room and Conservatory. The campus includes computer labs, sports facilities, bistro, residential rooms, outdoor fields and gardens.
