Dr. Kelly Harrison Maguire has been a member of the Converse faculty since 2000. She is currently serving as the Associate Dean of the School of Education and Graduate Studies and Director of NCATE. Dr. Harrison Maguire taught early childhood, elementary, and special education in Spartanburg County School District Six and Greenville County for seven years before completing her doctoral work at Clemson University. She was named "Teacher of the Year" at the elementary school in which she taught her first year of teaching. Her research interests include single-gender education and a reader response theory called envisionment building. Dr. Harrison-Maguire is currently the president of the South Carolina Council Association of Teacher Educators and serves on the Spartanburg County First Steps Board of Directors.
Dr. Maguire received her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Clemson University. She also holds two degrees from Converse College (B.A. and M.Ed.) |
