| Dr. Breard coordinates the M.Ed. in Gifted Education, the only degree of its kind in South Carolina. She has a long history as an advocate for gifted students, teaching in and coordinating programs in South Carolina and Louisiana. She has served on a number of state task forces for gifted education, the Governor's Advisory Board for Gifted Education and serves as a Board member for the South Carolina Consortium for Gifted Education. She worked with colleagues and the State Department of Education to develop the T3 CDROM course, Nature and Needs of Gifted and Talented Students. She is currently the director of a four year grant, Professional Development in Literacy, working with Spartanburg #4, #5, #7, and Newberry School Districts.
In addition to courses in gifted education, Dr. Breard also teaches Educational Psychology, Reading in the Content Area, Curriculum Principles and Methods of Secondary Education and courses for the Ed.S. in Curriculum and Instruction. |
