| Dr. Ansley Boggs graduated with a Special Education major from Converse College "with distinction in course," in 1977. She completed at UNC-Chapel Hill the M.Ed. in Special Education in 1978. In 1990, she earned her Doctorate of Education at USC-Columbia in Special Education Administration. Dr. Boggs has been on the Converse College faculty since 1980, following two years as a resource teacher with special education students in Roseburg, Oregon. She is an associate professor, Director of Special Education and Director of Professional Education. Dr. Boggs maintains South Carolina certification in five areas: elementary education, learning disabilities, emotional disabilities, educable mental disabilities, and trainable mental disabilities.
Professor Boggs teaches or has taught the following courses: Remedial Reading (undergraduate and graduate), Practicum in the Instruction of Exceptional Children: Learning Disabled (undergraduate and graduate), Practicum in the Instruction of Exceptional Children: Emotionally Disabled (undergraduate and graduate), Assessment for Exceptional Students (undergraduate), Classroom Management (undergraduate and graduate), Educational Procedures for the Learning Disabled (undergraduate), Educational Procedures for the Emotionally Disabled (undergraduate and graduate), Trends and Issues in Special Education (graduate), and Teaching through the Arts (graduate). She also supervises student teachers in special education.
