In order to complete any of the Ed.S advanced degree programs in The School of Education and Graduate Studies, candidates must meet three benchmarks in the program. Below is an overview of what is required to meet each of these benchmarks.
In order to be admitted to the ED.S. program and move to Benchmark 1, you must complete the following:
| Submit official transcripts indicating an earned undergraduate and master's degree from a recognized college or university |

| Verify a cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale of master's level college work (or 2.50 for provisional admission) |
| Submit PRAXIS II Specialty Area scores |
| Verify three years of full-time teaching experience |
| Submit a completed application form |
| Submit three letters of recommendation including at least one from the applicant's principal |
| Submit a biographical data form and admissions essay |
| Submit a $40 application fee |

In order to move to Benchmark 2, you must complete the following:
Take courses required for the internship including:
EDU 605 - School Personnel Administration
EDU 611 - School Finance
EDU 624 - Advanced Instruction
EDU 625 - Curriculum Leadership
EDU620 - Curriculum Development
EDU 621 - Research & Evaluation of Instruction

| Maintain an overall 3.0 average in academic and professional areas |

| Complete the internship EDU 603 (Elementary) or EDU 607 (Secondary) |

| Take PRAXIS II: 10410 - Administration and Supervision |
Passing scores vary by program but can be found on the State Department of Education website. Registration and test dates for the Praxis II are available through ETS. |

| Complete the Application for Degree |
