Hooray for Updates!

Okay, just to brag, I reached 35,109 words for NaNoWriMo last night!  Whoo!

Anyway, other things...The Creativity Conference was Saturday, and while I didn't go help out like I probably should have because of my write-in, it sounded a whole lot different than last year's Creativity Conference.  I remember, as one of the first Creativity Scholars, the one I went to last year.  It was amazing.  I got to sit in on a class; I got a tour of the campus, and we got into groups and made something completely random out of a few really random items.  My group made a vanity box, and I SWEAR one of the groups made a vaccuum/snore muffler.  No kidding!  It was hilarious.  I think the prompt this year was the same as the one last year, but whatever.  It rocked last year, and I hope the people who got to come last Saturday had a blast like I did last year.

This morning amused me to no end.  I woke up to my alarm, and I lay in bed for a while being a lazy bum.  When I looked at the clock on the microwave, I could have sworn to you it said 9:29.  I freaked out, because my first class is at 9:30, and I have the mindset that it's better to not show up at all than to be rude and show up late -- because in my view, showing up late is a way of disrespecting the professor.  So I lay in bed a while longer, arguing with myself, and then I look at the clock again.  I looked closer.  It said 9:21.  No kidding.  My first thought was "YES, OMG, I'M NOT LATE!"  So I hurried out of bed, got dressed, and went to class, showing up on time.

This just goes to show that I need to wear my glasses more often.

In other news, my roommate left me!  I'm now in a room by myself.  It's almost okay, but I miss having a roommate.  I'm also nervous because not having a roommate = higher tuition for having a room to yourself.  So, yeah.  I'm not quite the happy camper that I should be.  Sure, I have a whole room to myself, but I miss having someone to talk to!  My other friends say that if I ever get lonely then I should go and talk to them, but...I'm too much of a lazy bum to want to leave my room.  I would be just as happy to have someone just randomly barge in to talk to me.

Oh, I forgot to talk about Halloween!  The night before Halloween, Patrick held a ghost tour around campus.  It was amusing when Campus Safety dragged Patrick out of the back of their carts like he was a dead body.  Then, he showed us around campus, showing us the most haunted buildings.  Did you know that Converse has 4 of the top 10 most haunted places in South Carolina?  Wilson, Pell, Dexter, Cudd are some of the haunted locations on campus, and Wilson and Pell are probably the two most haunted.  Then, we went to the graveyard just past the Weisiger Center, where Patrick claimed Hell's Gates are.  To tell you the truth, I had NEVER been in a graveyard at night, so I excitedly carried my camera and took as many pictures as I could, trying to catch a ghost.  I didn't get any real evidence, however, save for a bunch of orbs.  (Orbs =/= ghosts, btw)  But we DID spend about a half-hour chasing a "ghost" all over the graveyard.  I won't tell you what it really was, in case some of ya'll decide to try and go on it next year -- I don't want to ruin it for ya.  Ha!

Anyway, before I go, here are my best pictures from the ghost tour, orbs and all!
