The Holidays Are Coming!!!
Well, it's almost Thanksgiving. You know what that means! Turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and pumpkin pie. However, this also means that Christmas is butting its head in with every Christmas song known to man on the radio, early birds putting up their trees and lights, and holiday deals happening in the stores already.
Needless to say, people are already anxious -- and annoyed.
I've been hearing comments all throughout campus along the lines of "WHAT ABOUT TURKEY DAY?!" In all seriousness, I agree. The campus is already being decorated for Christmas when we haven't even had our Thanksgiving Dinner yet. While it does get me in the holiday spirit, it's too early! I'm anxious enough as to what to get for my friends (family's gifts have already been acquired), I don't need people singing Christmas carols before I've had a chance to relax with family over some turkey or cornish hens. It astounds me how early people get started -- I know a certain restaurant who, every year without fail, has their Christmas stuff out in August!
Not that I'm annoyed at all. I think Christmas is a beautiful holiday. I just think people need to be a little more patient. Buy your gifts now, but wait until December before putting them under the tree, for goodness sakes!
Anyway, on with school life. Thanks to the semester being almost over, exams are coming -- fast! I've already had one of the tests for my Beginner's Tennis course (which I passed -- whee!) and am due for another one tomorrow morning. General Psychology is getting ready to have another test as well -- and he's already talking about the final exam (which is self-scheduled). Chem is getting there too, with one more test coming up and then a final afterwards. IDC had a test today and we have several more books to read (including Beowulf) before we get to the finals.
If they're anything like the Tennis Skills test from yesterday, I'll be fine. However, if it's anything like the Chemistry tests I've been taking all semester...let's not go there.
Wish me luck! (no pictures this time -- I lost my cord! *cries*)
