I guess my reason for waiting so long before posting another blog is because I was waiting for more things to happen. I've been QUITE busy these past few weeks -- going to class, getting re-published, preparing for the end of the year in general, etc -- and I've hardly had time to get all of my work done, even. I think Intro to Fitness and Wellness is trying to kill me, but that's only because the end of the year is approaching.
If any of you were wondering about something in the above, yes -- I have been republished. Go here if you want a copy of my book: http://www.xlibris.com/THEHEATSTROKECHRONICLES.html
Anyway, on to more modest things. I've been doing quite a bit outside of class also, some of it unsuccessful. I applied to be a T.E.A.M. member (and got rejected), a Student Ambassador (awaiting reply), attempted to apply for the SCICU Grant to do research over the summer (waited too long), and attempted to apply to be a P.E.A.S. (GPA too low). I've also been helping out with several things, including the Child Advocacy Center's (CAC) Fashion Show event that was held at the Marriott this past Wednesday. I went to the Marriott and helped set up tables and decorate the runway with flowers. I stayed long enough to enjoy a little bit of food (good food, mind you) with the Vice Chair of the CAC, some of his friends, and another student from Converse. It was an interesting experience, and I'm glad it was all to benefit the CAC.
Of course, the Spring Concert happened last week, with the bands doing a wonderful job of entertaining (not to mention wooing) the students here, as well as the other strangers who formed long lines outside of my dorm just trying to get into the concert just hours before. It was entertaining -- I had gone out to eat with my father, and had come back to see this giant line of people outside of Morris Hall waiting to get into the concert as early as possible. The rest of the night consisted of my roommate, her friend (who was spending the night and is going to be a transfer student next year), and a hallmate talking about how hot the band members were. This caused a little bit of depression, actually -- especially when the boyfriends started calling their cell phones. I won't go further.
Anyway, these past few weeks have been eventful to say the least, and it's only going to get more eventful and busy as the year comes to a close. The Founders Day event is tomorrow, May Day is next weekend, as is the May Day Masquerade (a dance -- yay!) and the Sophomore Ring Ceremony. I don't recall everything that's coming up, only because there's so much. Yearbooks are out, as well, and they look AMAZING.
Now, off to finish editing a report that's due tomorrow! Whee!
