Weisiger Cup & Outstanding Scholar Athletes Award

The Weisiger Cup and Weisiger Outstanding Scholar Athletes Award were established in 2009 to advance Converse's committments to women in science and to building an athletic program that prioritizes academic excellence. The awards are made possible through a $1 million endowment gift commitment from Charlotte, N.C. residents Agnes and Ed Weisiger, two generous donors who enabled the 2001 construction of the Weisiger Center, Converse’s athletics complex. The awards are presented each year at the College's Founder's Day Service in April.

Weisiger Cup

Elizabeth (Betsy) Ruppert '09 of Wapakoneta, Ohio was recognized as the first recipient of the Weisiger Cup. The Weisiger Cup provides an opportunity to celebrate a senior student-athlete who has distinguished herself as a leader and valuable member of the campus community. The sterling silver, hand-engraved Weisiger Cup will be permanently displayed in the Weisiger Center, bearing Ruppert's name.
