McGetrick Announces First Golf Signees

Allie McCain signs with the Converse golf team.

Converse College head golf coach, Sara Anne McGetrick, has announced the signing of Allie McCain (Lancaster, SC) and Miranda Saville (Boiling Springs, SC) to National Letters of Intent.  They become the first recruits to sign with the golf program which will have its inaugural season during the 2012-2013 academic year.

McCain comes to Converse after playing her prep career at Lancaster High School in Lancaster, SC.  She was the Most Valuable Player for the girl’s golf team for both the 2010 and 2011 seasons, while also earning 4-A Region III All-Conference honors during both years.

“I am extremely excited to welcome Allie to Converse and our inaugural golf squad,” claimed McGetrick.  “Allie is a hard worker and I am looking forward to coaching her and watching her develop over the next four years.  She has the talent and dedication to be a big contributor on the course and I feel she will be a natural leader for our team.  She has proven to be an excellent student and will be an asset to our campus across the board.”

Saville has been a part of the varsity golf team at Boiling Springs High School in Boiling Springs, SC during all of her four years in high school.  Miranda received the Most Improved Player Award during the 2009 season and was the captain for the Bulldogs during the 2011 season.

“I am thrilled to have Miranda sign with us,” stated McGetrick.  “She has been playing golf for five years and has steadily improved each year.  With her hard work ethic I am confident she will continue to improve during her career at Converse.  I am looking forward to having Miranda on our team and watching the impact she will have.”
