Thompson Advances to Regionals as Equestrian Shines

MOUNT BERRY, GA- Converse Equestrian continued their impressive debut season on February 26 and 27 at Berry College finishing 5^th overall on Saturday, and 7^th on Sunday.

Sophomore Sallie Katherine Thompson (Kannapolis, NC) continued her success finishing 4^th over fences and on the flat on Saturday, and 4^th over fences and 3^rd on the flat on Sunday.  Thompson’s performances have qualified her for the regional championships over fences and on the flat.  Freshman Kathleen Coker (Kingstree, SC) turned in an impressive weekend placing 1^st over fences and 5^th on the flat on the 26^th, and 3^rd over fences and 6^th on the flat on the 27^th.

Freshmen Meredith Walker (Union, SC)  and Miranda Tobiasen (Orlando, FL) finished 3^rd and 4^th respectively on the flat during Saturday’s competition, while freshman Sarah Kate Chatel (Smyrna, GA) took 6^th.  Tobiasen took 6^th and Chatel placed 4^th in the same event during Sunday’s  competition.  Freshman Claire Kunkler (Spartanburg, SC) was 5^th over fences and 6^th on the flat on Saturday, and 4^th on the flat for Sunday’s ride.  Freshman Mattie Martin (Dunnellon, FL) rode for a 5^th place showing during Sunday’s on the flat competition.
