Equestrian Has Strong Showing at Berry

MOUNT BERRY, GA- Sophomore Sallie Katherine Thompson (Kannapolis, NC) had a successful and busy weekend for the Converse Equestrian team as she led her team with three strong placings at Berry College on the weekend of October 23-24.  Thompson finished 1^st in the novice equitation flat category on Saturday, and 3^rd in the intermediate Over Fences competition on both Saturday and Sunday.

Freshman Claire Kunkler (Spartanburg, SC) finished 4^th in the novice equitation flat on Saturday and 2^nd on Sunday, while adding 3^rd and 4^th place finishes in O/F for Saturday and Sunday respectively.

The Valkyries riders were well represnted in the walk/trot/canter competition on both days by freshman Meredith Walker (2^nd/4^th), freshman Miranda Tobiason (5^th/4^th), freshman Sarah Kate Chatel (6^th/5^th), and junior Laura Herring who finished 4^th on Sunday.

The Valkyires finished in 8^th place out of 13 teams on both Saturday and Sunday.
