Converse Volleyball Captures First Win
Spartanburg, SC -- The Valkyries Volleyball team beat the Cobras in four sets, Tuesday evening at the Tom and Tracy Hannah Gymnasium. The Valkyries' 25-11, 23-25, 25-22, 25-19 captured the first win of the year while improving their record to 1 – 1 in Conference Carolinas play, while the Cobras fell to 0-5 overall.
The Valkyries were lead by Junior Val Thoms (Menasha, WI) with 10 kills, 3 aces, and 3 block assists. Fellow teammate and junior, Lauren Hunsberger (Duncan, SC) contributed 13 assists, 5 aces, and 11 digs.
While the Cobras’ standouts included Katie McElveen and Cynallhia Indriago who combined had 21 kills, 3 aces, and 24 digs.
Converse returns to action on Friday, Sept. 10 when it travels to Charleston, WV for the University of Charleston Tournament. First serve is set for Noon against University of Charleston.
