Valkyries Basketball Inks Two

SPARTANBURG, S.C.- Converse College head basketball coach Joanna Tincher has announced the signings of Tasia Holdorf and Maddisen Currier to National Letters of Intent for the 2010-2011 season.
Tasia Holdorf, a 5-10 guard/forward from Roswell, GA comes to Converse from Roswell High School where she played under Coach Lesley Broadwell.
"Tasia is really going to add some versatility to our team," stated Tincher. "She played a variety of positions in a good high school system at Roswell. Tasia has endless potential with her athleticism, and I am looking forward to watching her grow as a player over the next four years at Converse."
Holdorf also competed in track and field at Roswell High School, and placed 8th in the discus at the 2010 GHSA State Championships.

Maddisen Currier, a 5-7 guard from Lafayette, TN attended Macon County High School where she played both basketball and soccer during all four years.
"Maddisen comes from a basketball family, and brings a level of toughness that comes from growing up in a competitive environment," said Tincher. "She will be great representative for Converse both athletically and academically."
"I chose Converse because it offered me everything I was looking for in continuing my education," explained Currier. "Coach Tincher is a tough coach that wants to win, and I know that I will be pushed to perform in a competitive atmosphere."
Maddisen graduated with honors, and was a member of the Beta Club and Student Council at Macon County High School.
