DePaol Announces 2010 Converse Soccer Schedule

SPARTANBURG, SC- Home matches against non-conerence foes Montreat, Columbia, and North Greenville along with conference matches against Barton and Queens highlight the 2010 schedule, announced by fourth year head coach Rob DePaol.
"We will play some solid competition this year both in and out of the conference," said DePaol. "We are putting ourselves in a position to be tested early on in the schedule, and our team will benefit from that."
The Valkyries open the season with two away matches on Sept. 4 and Sept. 8 against Anderson and Brevard respectively. After that, they will settle in with a three game home stand featuring games against Erskine (Sept. 13), Southern Wesleyan (Sept. 15), and Columbia (Sept. 17).
Converse will play in-town opponent Wofford at Snyder Field on Sept. 19, before they visit Lander (Sept. 22), Coker (Sept. 25), and Lees-McRae (Sept. 27).
The Valkyries will host four consecutive home matches against Barton (Oct. 2), Belmont Abbey (Oct. 4), St. Andrews (Oct. 9), and NAIA opponent Montreat (Oct.12). Conference Carolinas play resumes on the road against Pfeiffer (Oct. 16) and Mount Olive (Oct. 20), before retuning home to play Queens on Oct. 23.
DePaol's team will round out the month of October with their final regular season conference game at Limestone (Oct. 26), and senior night at Hayden Abney Fulp Field against North Greenville (Oct. 30).
The first-round of the 2010 Conference Carolinas Tournament will begin on Nov. 2.
