Valkyries Show Signs of Improvement

The Valkyries tennis team dropped a 1-8 decision on Friday to visiting Mount Olive College. The lone win for Converse came at number 5 singles from Gulnora Yuldasheva who pulled out a third set tie-break, 6-2, 6-7, 10-7 over Patricia Guedes.
Converse showed strong doubles play with Olivia Self and Lindsey Kelly teaming up to drop a close 9-7 decision at number one doubles. At the third doubles, the Converse pair of Frani Mayer and Yuldasheva lost a closely contended 8-6 match.
Converse drops to 0-3 on the season. The next Converse tennis match will be on Wednesday, March 3 at Limestone College in Gaffney, SC. Play begins at 3:30.
