Assistant Swim Coach Selected For Prestigious Longhorns Swim Camp

Assistant Swim Coach Corey White has been selected to join an elite group of 25 coaches in the nation to participate in the Texas Longhorns Swim Camp in Austin, Texas this summer. The Longhorns Camp is renowned for developing some of the nation’s finest coaches and athletes. “I am thrilled that Coach White has been chosen for this prestigious program. This unique opportunity affords both Corey and Converse heightened exposure on the national swimming front. I look forward to our program benefitting from the latest knowledge on swimming techniques and coaching strategies that Coach White will bring back to Converse.” says Coach Susan Kunkler.

The Converse program is in its first year of collegiate competition and has quickly garnered an All-American Academic Team Award, All-Conference Swimmer, two All-Conference Academic Swimmers, and qualified a swimmer for the NCAA Championships who has a chance at All-American athletically and academically.

Located on the campus of The University of Texas, the Longhorns Camp has a rich history in the swimming world and top-notch facilities along with a reputation as a premier swim camp in one of the most exciting aquatic environments in the country.

"I can’t thank my past coaches enough and current colleagues for helping me get to this level. It is an honor and an opportunity of a lifetime to be selected for this program. This will be a great chance for me as a coach to learn the best techniques, race strategies, coaching strategies, and bring what I have as a coach to the camp," stated Coach White.

While there he will have the opportunity to work along side and learn from some of the best including, 2008 Olympic and University of Texas’ men's swim coach Eddie Reese, 2008 Olympic coach and University of Texas women's head swim coach Kim Brackin, 2009 World Championships coach Kris Kubik, University of Texas assistant women's coach Jim Henry, and guest coaches including Olympians: Aaron Peirsol, Eric Shanteau, Josh Davis, Ian Crocker, and Garrett Weber-Gale.
