Ashley Arff Earns Third Team All-Conference

Spartanburg, SC – The Converse Valkyries basketball season proved to be successful in many ways, despite what their record might say. One of those successes was the selection of senior Ashley Arff (Fox Lake, Illinois) as third team All-Conference Carolinas. During her career at Converse, Arff has been among the top total point scorers, with this year being no exception. She finished the regular season ranked 50th in Division II in total points scored with 464 points and 11th in 3-point shots with 76 points.

“I’m honored to receive this award from the conference," said Arff. "I knew that all the hard work and dedication would pay off in the end and I couldn’t have done it without the support of my teammates and coaches.”

In addition to her success on the court, Arff has achieved much off of the court. She will join an elite group of players and coaches participating in the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association in San Antonio, Texas from April 2-4 in conjunction with the Women’s Final Four.

“I know her heart was set on having a successful year as a team. And, though we did not accomplish that, Ashley has helped define the kind of program we hope to have and has modeled the kind of work it will take to get us there," commented Coach Joanna Tincher. "My athletes are determined to come back stronger and better as a program next year. I can’t congratulate Ashley enough on her success throughout her career here."
