Converse Fund Reunion “It’s a Class Act” Awards
The importance of the Annual Fund cannot be overstated, nor can Reunion classes show enough support of this effort. The “It’s a Class Act” award is given to two classes: the class that raises the most money for the Annual Fund and the class that has the highest participation of giving to the Annual Fund. The awards will be given during the Awards Luncheon on Saturday. Every gift counts, no matter the size, and adds to the total participation rate of Converse alumnae in the Annual Fund effort.
Act I — Gift Award
The Gift Award goes to the class that raises the largest dollar amount for the Annual Fund. Gifts made between July 1, 2007 and 11:00 am, Saturday, April 26, 2008 of Reunion Weekend will count towards the competition.
How can you help? Commemorate your reunion and make a special gift to the Converse Annual Fund today! Your gift will help us empower young women to become innovative thinkers and leaders. Last year’s Annual Fund helped provide student scholarships, upgrade residence halls, add new wireless areas to the campus, renovate Gee Dining Hall, and enhance security with new entry systems to our residence halls.
Imagine the possibilities. We need everyone’s support. We need YOU.
Act II — Participation Award
The Participation Award goes to the class who has the highest percentage of classmates who give to the Converse Annual Fund. Gifts made between July 1, 2007 and 11:00 am Saturday, April 26, 2008 of Reunion Weekend will count towards the competition.
Why is participation important? Alumnae/i support is viewed as a direct reflection of the strength of any college. As Converse alumnae, our participation in the Annual Fund is an outward expression of our belief in Converse College’s commitment to creative teaching and learning across all fields of study. The percentage of alumnae who support the Annual Fund is an important factor considered by foundations and organizations when determining whether to provide Converse with grant money and corporate support. Our support of the Converse Annual Fund helps Converse secure major gifts that offset current tuition costs. Participation - at any level - benefits us. Last year only 30% of alumnae supported the Converse Annual Fund, and we know we can do better. Our goal is to reach 35% participation from the alumnae body, and we need your help more than ever.
