25 Ways to Support Converse

There are many ways alumnae and graduate alumni can help support Converse College—choose one of the creative ideas below and support Converse!

  1. Keep us up-to-date! Make sure you are in the know with what’s happening at Converse by updating your contact information online or by calling 800.584.9098 or 864.596.9011. Don’t forget to give us your email address!
  2. Refer a prospective student and encourage talented young women to visit campus and consider Converse.
  3. Support the Converse Annual Fund every year! The Converse Annual Fund supports student scholarships, athletics and general operations of the college. Gifts can be made by personal check, stock, credit card, and monthly bank draft. Encourage your classmates and other alumnae to also give annually.
  4. Display your Converse diploma in your home or office. If you need a new diploma, please contact the Registrar to order a replacement.
  5. Attend an alumnae event in your area, and take a fellow alumna, friend, spouse, and parent of current student or prospective student with you.
  6. Cheer on the Converse Valkyries at a game in your area.
  7. Participate in the Alumnae Mentoring Program and build a relationship with a current Converse student.
  8. Proudly wear Converse t-shirts and jackets, and display a Converse decal on your car, available from the Valkyries Station.  If you live in South Carolina, purchase a Converse College license tag for your car.  
  9. Travel with Converse! Take a trip with the Converse Alumnae Office as we travel to exciting destinations.
  10. Attend Converse Reunion Weekend! Encourage your classmates to attend, and if possible, help organize your class reunion. 
  11. Join the Alumnae Office on Facebook.
  12. Clip newspaper articles and obituaries about Converse alumnae and send them to the Alumnae Office; forward news about alumnae on the web to the Alumnae Office.
  13. Wear your Converse class ring. To order a class ring, or replacement ring, contact Caroline Wham at caroline.wham@converse.edu or 864.596.9016.
  14. Join the Miss Gee Society by remembering Converse in your will or estate plan.
  15. Help Converse connect with individuals, corporations, and foundations capable of providing financial support and/or internships and job opportunities for students and alumnae.
  16. Attend adult and family events offered on campus. For more information, review our Events Calendar online.
  17. Give news to your class representative for the Converse Magazine’s Class Notes.
  18. Read and display your Converse Magazine in your home or office. After you’ve finished with it, pass it along to a friend or prospective student, or read the Magazine online.
  19. When possible, hire or recommend Converse graduates for open positions at your company.  
  20. Give a gift to Converse in honor or memory of someone special to you.  
  21. Assist an alumna who wants to visit the campus but cannot drive.
  22. Visit a local school and give Converse Admission material to teachers, guidance counselors, and students in your hometown. To request materials contact the Alumnae Office.
  23. Enjoy conversation with Converse students who call during the phonathons.
  25. Visit the Converse Archives while on campus and encourage alumnae and family of alumnae to donate old Converse photos, scrapbooks, yearbooks, and other Converse items to the Converse archives.
