We are thrilled to offer a reading by Joyce Carol Oates on Friday afternoon followed by a book signing! Since 2008, Oates is the Roger S. Berlind '52 Professor in the Humanities with the Program in Creative Writing at Princeton University. Oates published her first book in 1963 and has since published over 50 novels, as well as many volumes of short stories, poetry, and nonfiction. Her novel them (1969) won the National Book Award, and her novels Black Water (1992), What I Lived For (1994) and Blonde (2000) were nominated for the Pulitzer Prize.

Founder’s Day/Reunion Convocation

Celebrate Founder's Day Convocation on Friday with faculty, staff and students. Convocation includes a welcome address from President Fleming, a tribute to the life of Joe Ann Lever and induction of the Class of 1962 into the Golden Club. Reunioning alumnae will process into Twichell Auditorium by class.

Join the Converse community for lunch on the lawn after Founder’s Day on Friday. As is tradition, Dexter Edgar Converse's favorite dessert, strawberries and cream, will be served. Special seating will be reserved for the Class of 1962 as they celebrate their 50th Converse Reunion.

Along with the traditional presentations of the Alumnae Achievement Awards, election of Alumnae Board nominees and “It's a Class Act” reunion giving awards, a special presentation of Honorary Alumnus will be awarded to Dr. Jeffrey R. Willis, Director of Archives and Special Collections and Andrew Helmus Distinguished Professor Emeritus of History.
