The School of Education and Graduate Studies offers a variety of initial certification programs.
We hope you'll join our graduate student community. Each graduate program has specific application requirements and deadlines so please review the instructions for your intended program carefully.
To apply for graduate admission, applicants should:
1. Review application instructions for your intended program.
For admission as a "special status" non-degree seeking student, complete the Application for Special Status.
2. Complete the appropriate application online or mail in an application (PDF) for your program, as well as any supplemental forms. Also, complete your personal statement. An application file is not complete until the required personal statement has been submitted.
3. Submit application and $40 application fee online or mail to:

If applying to the Master of Music or Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing programs, send application and fees to the address listed in the program's application instructions
4. The Graduate Admission Committee meets regularly to admit new students. In order to be considered during a meeting, all application materials must be received in the Graduate Studies office one week prior to the meeting. Dates for this academic year are:

5. Once admitted, you will receive a letter instructing the next steps to take before you begin classes.
Application for Special Status
The application for special status is for students who wish to take courses but are not admitted to a degree program. Students who have not previously applied or who have not been accepted in a Masters or Ed.S. program at Converse College may apply for special status. A special status graduate student may take no more than 12 hours of course work on campus. The Application for Special Status is available above, in the Office of Graduate Studies or the Finance and Registration Center.
