Undergraduate Programs
Whether it’s from our rich offerings in the liberal arts or our career-related programs such as music or interior design, Converse is a place where you can master new knowledge, uncover new truths and determine a new future. It’s a place to flourish.
But as impressive as our programs—like South Carolina’s only BFA in creative and professional writing or the state’s only BA in special education: deaf and hard of hearing—might be, what really sets Converse apart is our professors. Maybe you’ll study with Dr. Melissa Walker, the South Carolina Professor of the Year, or Dr. Edna Steele, whose mentee was named as the outstanding undergrad female science student by the state’s Academy of Science.
And you may take one of our innovative, team-taught courses, like “Psychology, Politics, and Tragedy,” or “1960’s Music and Culture.” They’re part of our new educational model that integrates creativity and collaboration into our curriculum. And the flexibility Converse offers in acquiring a minor, a double major or even designing your own major, lets you combine your scholarly, professional and artistic interests in ways only you thought possible.
If you’re looking for even greater challenges, maybe you’ll become a Nisbet Honors Program scholar, or take part in our leadership programs. Maybe you’ll develop a cross-disciplinary project or study in Iceland or Ireland in one of our study abroad programs.
At Converse, the more possibilities you consider, the more opportunities you create for yourself.
