Academic Search Premier One of the world’s largest academic multi-disciplinary databases, Academic Search Premier provides indexing to over 8,000 periodicals and includes the full text of nearly 4,700 of these (approximately 3,600 are peer-reviewed journals). Book Review Index Online PlusReviews of books, periodicals, books-on-tape, and electronic media. 5+ million citations to reviews, 634,000+ full-text reviews. Provided by DISCUS, South Carolina's Virtual Library.
Directory of Open Access JournalsProviding access to over 2,000 free, full-text, quality-controlled scholarly journals, this resource allows one to search by topic for journal titles or journal articles. Coverage is strongest in the sciences and social sciences.
 Gale Databases (also known as "InfoTrac")
Comprising several individual resources, this suite of databases covers thousands of academic journals, magazines, and newspapers. Provides citations and, often, abstracts and complete articles as well. Provided by DISCUS, South Carolina's Virtual Library.
Google Scholar 
HighWire Press
Focusing on the biological and medical sciences (but also providing some coverage of the physical sciences, the social sciences, and the humanities), this product includes 3+ million references to articles as well as 1+ million full-text articles from scholarly journals. 
JSTOR A database of articles from the back issues (3 years old and older) of hundreds of scholarly journals in the arts, humanities, and social sciences. Converse subscribes to these JSTOR collections: Arts & Sciences I, II, III (which includes the "Music Collection"), V, VII, and VIII.
Lexis/Nexis Academic Universe Provides the complete text of articles from newspapers, magazines, and legal publications.
Liebert Online Provides articles (in PDF) from 50+ peer-reviewed journals published by Mary Ann Liebert, Inc.; focuses on the life sciences, biotechnology, medicine, and public health. 
Opposing Viewpoints in Context Covers contemporary social issues. More than 8,700 “pro” and “con” articles from books, magazines, academic journals, etc. Provided by DISCUS, South Carolina's Virtual Library. 
SIRS Knowledge Source Made up of several individual databases, SIRS provides full-text articles from 1,500 domestic and international magazines, newspapers, journals, and government publications. Provided by DISCUS, South Carolina's Virtual Library.

ProQuest Education Journals Covers over 500 magazines and journals in education. Provides citations and abstracts for all articles, as well as the complete text of articles from around 300 of the titles.

IIMP / International Index to Music Periodicals Covers primarily music journals and magazines. Includes citations, abstracts, and some complete articles. 
JSTOR Music Collection Contains the complete back runs of 32 journals dedicated to scholarly research and theory in the field of music. 
Music Index Online Covers over 640 music periodicals with topics in classical and popular music. Includes citations with occasional notes that serve as mini-abstracts, but not the full text. 
RILM / Rèpertoire International de Littèrature Musicale Abstracts of Music Literature Published by Rèpertoire International de Littèrature Musicale, this resource contains references to music-related information sources such as articles, books, bibliographies, dissertations, concert reviews, and recording notes. Covers not only all aspects of music, but also other academic disciplines as they relate to music.

ProQuest Science Journals 
 
Indexes about 400 journals in science, technology, and math; includes the full text of most of the articles it indexes.
