Mary Nicholson, part-time faculty and instructor of Theatre, teaches a wide variety of courses including public speaking, introduction to theatre, acting, puppetry, costume design, manners/movement in period costumes, creative dramatics for the elementary school teacher and arts management.

| In addition to directing at Converse College. Mary has directed for the Spartanburg Little Theatre, the Spartanburg Youth Theatre and the Spartanburg Repetory Company. She has been on the roster for the South Carolina Arts Commission as an Artist in Residence presenting workshops in puppetry and creative
drama throughout the state. She is a member of American Alliance of Theatre and Education and has twice served as the secretary for the South Carolina Theatre Association. |
| Mary was honored by the Spartanburg Little Theatre on May 10, 2002 for her thirty years of service as the founder and manager of the Spartanburg
Youth Theatre. A scholarship has been set up for the Converse Theatre Department by The Little Theatre and will be known as the Mary Nicholson Scholarship Fund. |
