Originally from Augusta, GA, Carrie came to Converse as a freshman in the fall of 1992 and has been a resident of "Sparkle City" ever since!
Shortly after graduating in 1996, Carrie went to work as an Admission Counselor for Converse and remained with the Admissions team for over 5 years. She has also held positions with the Spartanburg Chamber of Commerce, the Spartanburg Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Spartanburg County Economic Developement Corporation and First Presbyterian Church Spartanburg.
Whether as a volunteer or an employee, Carrie has continued to serve Converse in any way possible since her graduation. She served on the Alumnae Association Board from 2002 - 2008 and in 2006 worked as the Inauguration Coordinator for the events surrounding the Inauguration of President Betsy Fleming. Carrie returned to the college full-time in 2012 after accepting the position of Director of Alumnae and Donor Relations. She recently transitioned to the role of Advancement Communications Manager. The highlight of her years at Converse came last year when she had the opportunity to perform in two productions with Theatre Converse - "One Day When I Am... Women On Aging" in September 2013, and "Legally Blonde: The Musical" in March 2014.
When she's not at Converse, Carrie loves to be at home with her husband, Mark, their two children, Eleanor and Thomas, and her lap dog Callie. She also thoroughly enjoys being a certified Barre Pilates instructor and teaches classes both at Studio B Spartanburg and at Converse. She is a 2005 graduate of Leadership Spartanburg and currently enjoys volunteering for the Spartanburg Day School where her children are enrolled.
