Welcome to the Converse College Community!

You are about to embark on an exciting journey at Converse - we suggest you start with SOAP! The Campus Life staff invites you to make a splash at our pre-orientation advising program for the Class of 2013. Then, head out on one of three excursions designed to introduce you to your classmates, build community and develop your leadership skills.

 

We look forward to getting to know you over the next four years and to providing opportunities that help you grow in mind, body and spirit. Join us for SOAP. It's good, clean fun!

Summer Visit & Advising

Sunday, June 28 – Monday, June 29

This overnight program includes pre-registration activities that introduce you to academic course offerings and to some of our freshmen academic advisors. In addition, you'll get to know your classmates and begin to form friendships that will last a lifetime.

 

Cost: $50

 

Participants in Summer Visit & Advising are encouraged but not required to participate in one of the three SOAP excursions. The all-inclusive cost for SOAP excursions includes the Summer Visit & Advising Program.

Summer Adventure

Be Bold - Design a Journey with Purpose

Sunday, June 28 – Thursday, July 2

Churn up the fun with an adventure at Nantahala Outdoor Center. Build confidence, interpersonal skills and friendships while participating in outdoor activities including a ropes course, white water rafting and hiking. Your group will spend the night in cabins at the center.

 

Cost: $300 All Registration Slots Filled!

Summer Serve

Make a Difference

Sunday, June 28 – Wednesday, July 1

Serving others cleanses the soul! Join fellow first-year students for a building project with Habitat for Humanity and an evening of games and crafts for children at The Haven Emergency Shelter in Spartanburg. This SOAP excursion helps participants develop through teambuilding and service reflection activities. Your group will spend the night on campus.

Cost: $200

Summer Scene

Sunday, June 28 – Wednesday, July 1

See what bubbles up when you explore your creative side. Get "hands-on" at Converse through art projects such as pottery and painting. Then, take to the road to experience the eclectic culture of art in the region by gallery hopping through area cities. Your group will spend the night on campus.

Cost: $200
