The aim of Counseling Services is to assist students in defining and accomplishing personal and academic goals. To accomplish this, the Counseling Service offers:
- Individual and group counseling for students seeking assistance with emotional, behavioral, or learning difficulties.
- Educational programming on issues related to the developmental needs and emotional well being of college students.
- Individual assessment and referral services to appropriate campus and community resources as needed.
- Crisis interventional for students experiencing more serious emotional difficulties.
Appointments for individual counseling are necessary and may be made by calling extension 9595. Sessions are available at no charge to full-time Converse undergraduate students. If a referral is made to an off-campus psychiatrist or psychotherapist, the student is responsible for the cost.
Counseling Services is here to help students deal more effectively with a variety of issues and problems such as anxiety, communication skills, self esteem, personal relationships, depression, stress, substance abuse, grief and achievement of specific personal goals.
