Ericka Tyner is Lecturer in Horn for the Petrie School of Music and Pre-College Program at Converse College. A Converse graduate, she also holds a Master of Music Degree from the University of Alabama, where she studied with Charles “Skip” Snead. Additional teachers have included Dr. Gayle Chesebro, Richard Deane and Dale Clevenger. As a performer, Ms. Tyner has participated in the Brevard Music Festival and TransAtlantic Horn Quartet seminars, and has performed in masterclasses with Michael Thompson, Laurel Ohlson, and David Jolley. She is a winner in the 2004 Southeast Horn Workshop Horn Quartet Competition, and a member of the Rho chapter of Pi Kappa Lambda. Currently, Ms. Tyner performs with the Papageno Woodwind Quintet and the Spartanburg Philharmonic Orchestra.
