As an international baritone, Ronald Boudreaux has performed on stages in Europe and the United States in opera, musical theatre, and concert. Symphony appearances have included such cities as Frankfurt, Munich, Louisville, New Orleans, Cleveland, Mexico City, Peoria, Indianapolis, Columbus, Los Angeles and New York. He has performed world premiers of composers Seymour Barab, Lukas Foss and John Eaton.
As an operatic baritone, Ronald has an impressive list of over 70 leading roles to his credit. He has performed with such operatic stars as James McCracken, Mignon Dunn, Jan Peerce, Joanna Mier, John Alexander, Louis Quilico, Karen Armstrong, Gail Robinson, and James Morris.
Musical theatre performances include such roles as Fredrik in "A Little Night Music"; Sweeney in "Sweeney Todd"; Tevye in "Fiddler on the Roof"; Fred Graham in "Kiss Me Kate"; Billy Bigelow in "Carousel"; Neville Craven in "Secret Garden"; and Bernardo in "West Side Story." He has appeared opposite motion picture and stage actress Glen Close in "Joan of Arc" in New York City and Tony Award winner Ronald Holgate in the world premier of "Philip Marshall."
Dr. Boudreaux has served as Director of Opera and Musical Theatre at Northern Arizona University, Wichita State University and Baldwin Wallace Conservatory in Ohio. Directing credits include musicals and operas such as "A Little Night Music"; "Suor Angelica"; "Amahl and the Night Visitors"; "Into the Woods"; "H.M.S. Pinafore"; "Hänsel und Gretel"; "The Medium, Old Maid and the Thief"; "Beggar's Opera"; "Die Fledermaus, Marriage of Figaro"; "La Traviata"; "Carousel"; "Passion"; and "Cavalleria Rusticana." Dr. Boudreaux also serves as stage director at Brevard Music Center. He has recently returned from Europe where he was Knighted and made a Commander in the Order of Saint John, Knights of Malta and the Supremus Ordo Militaris Equitum Teutonicorum.
Dr. Boudreaux received his education at Indiana University, B.M., the University of California, M.A., and the University of Southern California, D.M.A. He is a member of Actors Equity, Opera America, National Opera Association, NATS, Society of American Fight Directors and Pi Kappa Lambda.
