Opera Guild :
The Converse Opera Guild is an organization which supports The Opera Theatre program at Converse College. The members of the Guild volunteer, according to their skills and interests, to assist in productions staged by the Opera Theatre. The activities of the Guild include securing and organizing props, making set repairs, managing wardrobe requirements, assisting with hairstyling and make-up needs, conducting publicity, decorating the lobby, selling refreshments during intermission, and other tasks related to supporting the cast, conductor, and director. Guild members have the opportunity to become acquainted with and to support the artistic expressions of talented singers, musicians, and other artists from within our Converse College community as well as the greater metropolitan area of upstate South Carolina. The Guild’s involvement in Opera Theatre productions has proved to be a rewarding experience for all of the members and the efforts of the Guild are greatly appreciated.
We welcome new members to our organization and invite you to join The Converse Opera Guild. No previous experience with opera or theater is necessary and there are no fees required for membership.
