Graduates of the Department of Music Education and Therapy are making significant contributions as band directors, orchestra directors, choral directors, elementary teachers and piano teachers in schools and studios throughout the United States, and are leaders among their professional peers.
Recent alumnae include:

- Jenn Mazell '03, is currently enrolled in the Master of Music program for vocal performance. She is also the music teacher at St. Paul’s Catholic School in Spartanburg
- Megan Russell '03, is the orchestra teacher at Pickens Middle School
- Cheryl Moore '03, is an elementary music teacher at three elementary schools in Taunton MA
- Jennifer Nexson Holliday ’98, teaches elementary music in South Carolina (recently named
Teacher of the Year at her school)
- Christi Lewis '95, is an orchestra teacher in Richland District One, where she recently received a VH-1 grant for
$25,000
- Vicki Jones Bishop '92, teaches elementary music at Anderson Mill Elementary School in Spartanburg and also serves as the Publicity Chair for the SC Music Educators
Association
- Stephanie Schramm ’89, is a Music Therapist for the Georgia State Mental Health Institute
