The vast majority of music history, theory, and composition students obtain advanced degrees. Graduates of the Department of Musicology and Composition have been extremely successful in launching their careers as Converse students and then continuing their studies at some of the nation's most prestigious graduate programs.

- Sarah Earnhardt '02 is a graduate student in music history at
Florida State University
- Carrie Page '02 received the Bomhard Fellowship in Music
Composition for graduate study at the University of Louisville
- Jennifer Woodruff '01 was awarded a fellowship in musicology at Duke
University
- Lindsay Birmingham '01 is a graduate student in composition at
Florida State University
- Andrea Jackson '00 is a graduate assistant in music theory at
Western Michigan University
