More Than Half of Converse Student-Athletes Named to CVAC Presidential Honor Roll
CVAC institutions have once again raised the academic bar as 932 student-athletes achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.00 scale) at their institutions. The CVAC’s emphasis on “Academics and Athletics Working Together” has yielded the largest Presidential Honor Roll in conference history as this unique conference strives to be the front runner in NCAA Division II. The CVAC sponsors eight women’s and six men’s sports that include men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s cross-country, volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, softball, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s tennis, and men’s and women’s lacrosse. Twenty-five Converse student-athletes were named to the 2005-2006 Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference (CVAC) Presidential Honor Roll in November. That represents over half (53%) of the College’s student-athletes.
