Education Specialist Degree
Curriculum and Instruction
This Converse Ed.S. degree is a 36 semester hour program providing an in-depth knowledge base in curriculum and instruction that prepares students to be instructional leaders at the school and/or district level.

Course offerings will acquaint students with the latest research in

  • curriculum design
  • teaching strategies
  • and administrative leadership.

Students will take advanced courses in liberal arts in order to increase their knowledge of academic content.

Those interested in this Ed.S. program may want to strengthen their overall knowledge of curriculum and instruction in order to be more effective in the classroom; they may also want to extend their competencies in order to prepare for such leadership roles as department chair or curriculum specialist.

The program concludes with an intensive internship experience so that students may have ample opportunity to apply their knowledge to actual curriculum work in the public schools.

Programs are approved by the South Carolina State  Department of Education. (Read about the NCATE accreditation process.)
